So I know I usually post about fashion but I thought I’d start posting a few beauty posts every now and then. As you can tell by the title I’m going to give my review on the Revolution 12 Days of Christmas giftset. I received this as a gift at Christmas and tbh I hadn’t seen anything about it so I was unsure what products it included. However when I opened the box I was surprised with what was inside. The box is amazing quality and has a beautiful nude/rose gold design, definitely designed to be reused.
This collection contains new and exclusive products alongside some Revolution favourites. It includes a blush and highlight palette, 3 exclusive eyeshadow palettes, new shades of lip glosses, two setting sprays, contour powder, a brow palette, eyeshadow and face primers and also a set of travel brushes! Not to mention to this brand is cruelty free.
The box contains three eyeshadow palettes called, Metallic Crush, Ultimate Neutrals and Velvet Matte. They’re all great quality, although my favourite one has to be the Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette. The buttery creamy formula makes it easy to apply and blend. This palette contains neutral shades as well as a few colourful shades which gives you the opportunity to play around and create various looks.
I wasn’t too keen on the Eye Primer as I don’t think it’s a product I’d use often enough as I tend to use concealer. However I do like the Mattifying face Primer, it’s definitely helped my t-zone as that’s the area I slowly become oily during the day and my makeup starts to separate. The formula is a clear silky, silicone consistency.
There’s two setting sprays, a Cooling Fixing Spray and an Illuminating Fixing Spray. Both I like and definitely think they help my makeup last and look good all day.
The Blush and Highlight Palette I really like. I know blush is like marmite, you either love it or you hate it and I love it! This palette contains matte and shimmer blushes, I personally prefer a matte blush. Also four shimmering highlighters which are so pretty! The formula of these are similar to the eyeshadows which make them really easy to use and there’s not much kickback.
The Ultra Contour Palette contains a few matte shades and a collection of matte and shimmer highlighters. Again the formula is the same as the blush palette which makes this the ideal contour palette for anyone. There’s a contour palette the exact same just in different packaging on their site – Linked on photo below.
Next we have the Brow Palette. After growing out my eyebrows I don’t use much product now, only a brow gel. However having this in the collection I’ve been using it quite a bit and I missed filling in my brows. This palette allows easy appliance so you can sculpt your brows. It has a great range of shades for brunettes and the highlighting section allows you to enhance your sculpted eyebrows. There’s a similar brow palette on their site ranging in different shades – Linked on photo below.
Further, there’s the Lip Gloss Trio – This one was a little disappointing as I don’t like wearing lip glosses however the shades are really pretty they’re just not for me. They claim to be comfortable, creamy, medium coverage and have a shiny finish.
Lastly but certainly not the least is the Limited Edition Travel Brush Set containing four brushes – Powder Brush, Foundation/Concealer Brush, Eyeshadow Brush and a Brow Brush. I like the idea of this set however I’m unsure when or if I’ll end up using them. They claim to be 100% synthetic ultra soft hair for a flawless makeup application. I find the handles to be great quality, although they are very small in size I do think they could be somewhat useful.
